I've been eating a whole avocado as breakfast, or brunch for quite some time, along with a glass of milk, silk, or oj...

The only think I've noticed from this is a yummy, comfortable feeling.... I'm looking forward to doing it again in the am...

cheers..

I hated avacodos...until I tried one! That was over 20 years ago and now I only hate paying nearly $2.00 each for them because they are terrific. I'm comforted to know that many of you also eat the whole thing at once. In the past I've been a purist (except for guacamole or in a salad) but I will try some of the interesting toppings you all have suggested...And I won't even think about those 29 grams!!!

Are we talking about Hass avocados? I can't believe that eating a whole avo seems difficult. Fear the carb not the Fat, Fat in a diet does NOT make you fat- Carbs do and they do it very well. Cholesterol is made in the human body because it is an essential micro-nutrient for survival. There has never ever been a study that links cholesterol with heart disease, Pharmaceutical companies try to sell this point but it is not true so don't fear the avocado. Fear the French fry, bread, cake, fruit juices. Diabetes is in your future.

I love these sweet gems as well. They are pricey but the health benefits seem to outweigh the price. I've been suffering from joint pain and headaches lately and today I've avoided the processed stuff and white flour I've been eating and replaced them with yummy apples, hard boiled eggs, sweet orange pepper dipped in delicious fresh guacamole! So fabulous and wow no headache and minimal joint pain. Such a nice change.

By the way, Greg's statement "They’re like crack, only good for you", sums up my obsession. I've had five avocados in the house since Saturday and I can't stop thinking about eating them.

FYI... Avocados, like all plant derived foods, do not contain ANY cholesterol.
On another note, I make avocado smoothies with half an avocado, 8-10 oz of milk and honey, and it serves as a whole meal. it's delicious!
