I’ve decided to come out from NFN hibernation! I know it’s been a long while since we’ve chatted, and I’m sorry. Fortunately, I have an excuse. Mairwage (if you haven’t see The Princess Bride, add it to your to-do list NOW). Yes, white dress, handsome groom, pretty flowers, angels singing…the whole deal. I know you missed me as much as I missed you. Which is a LOT, of course. But instead of going all mushy about how much you mean to me and starting to cry, we’ll just move on to nutrition.

I love asparagus. Who cares if it makes your pee smell funny. It is darn tasty and even better for your health. And asparagus season is NOW. That means, it’s always on sale, so you can afford to experiment with it a little. Like on the grill. Or roasted with fresh Parmesan. Or in this amazing asparagus Gruyere tart that I made for a baby shower last week. Holy deliciousness.

In a perfect world, chocolate cake would be nutritious, soda would build bones like milk, and food would have negative calories. Sadly, our world is far from perfect, chocolate cake is far from nutritious, soda destroys your bones, BUT, some foods DO have negative calories. Well, one in three ain’t bad.
